Yalikosk or Cebeciler Villa is a the part of Topkapi Palace facing
Galata, in Istanbul. The plan of the villa is uncertain, but it is known that it was built
by the command of Sultan Selim I. The villa is composed of a sergah
that has belted columns and faced towards the sea, and there is a saloon with cupola
behind the sergah,
The Sultans watched navy from the vestibule in front of the villa, and they accepted the
commanders of the navy here. The villa was demolished during the railway construction in
the reign of Sultan Abdülaziz. |
