TOPKAPI RAMPARTS
Topkapi Palace is in Sarayburnu in Istanbul. It was the residential palace of the Ottoman Sultans from Mehmed II to Abdulmecid, it was erected on the first hill of the city called Zeytinlik. The palace is surrounded by 1400 m long ramparts built in 1478. These defensive ramparts called as the Suru Sultani (Sultan Ramparts). There are 28 towers on these ramparts.
