EDIRNE SELIMIYE MOSQUE

Edirne Selimiye Mosque was replaced the Baltacılar dormitory of the old palace by Sultan Selim’s command by Mimar Sinan. Selimiye Mosque, was built between 1568 and 1574, it is the most important example of Ottoman-Turk Architecture. The mosque has four minarets and each one has three galleries (serefe). Each minaret is 79.89 m high. The dome’s diameter is 31.28 m, and it has several stairs to climb on the minarets on the Harim side.
