He was born in Istanbul in 1658. He entered the palace in his early ages. Then he joined Hasbahce gardeners and he was raised to higher ranks in a very short time. He lived in the palace in the reigns of Sultan Mehmed IV, Sultan Suleyman II, Sultan Ahmed II, Sultan Mustafa II, Sultan Ahmed III, and he was very close to these sultans. He joined 2^nd Vienna and Austria campaigns with Kara Mustafa Pasha. He wrote events of the period he lived. His book is called as Silahdar Tarihi (The History of The Silahdar). This book was written in the form of traditional Ottoman prose.
