Georges Rakochi II was the eldest son of a famous
Hungarian Family significant in the Ottoman History. He lived between 1621-1660. He
ascended the Wallachian throne after his father’s death, in 1648. In 1658, in the reign
of Sultan Mehmed IV, he left Wallachia to the Ottoman Empire. He declared war against the
Ottoman Empire and won but he was strangled by the command of the Budapest Governor. |
