He was a Turkish government man whose roots were going back to Albania. He grew up in the palace. He replaced Sokullu Mehmed Pasha the governor of Roumelia, after the Nahcivan War, in 1554. He was given the 4th vizier rank, in 1555. In a short time he raised to 3rd and 2nd vizier ranks. He commanded the Navy in the Cyprus Campaign. He landed the navy on Kyrete. Cerigo, Zenta, and Kefalonya Islands. He invaded Lesina, Antivri Sopot and Dulcino castles in the Dalmatian shores. He was dismissed from 2nd vizierate after the defeat in the Inebahti War. |
