He is a historian who is famous for his two volumed work about the Ottoman History. He was born in Pec located between Mohac and Zigetvar, because of his birth place he was called as “Pecevi”. His grandfather was Kara Davud who was the “silahdar” (the officer responsible of the sultan’s weapons) of Sultan Mehmed The Conqueror. After his father’s death Lala Mehmed Pasha had taken care of him. He joined the wars when Lala Mehmed Pasha was the commander-in-chief. He met with Tiryaki Hasan Pasha, the guardian of Kanije. He joined the peace negations as a Hungarian translator. He was successful in the economical issues and was appointed as the accountant. He was proposed the be the Minister of Finance after the death of Baki Pasha, but he refused and worked Tokat Accountant. He became the Bosnia Accountant, in 1636. He spent his last days in Budin and wrote the Ottoman history between Sultan Suleyman The Lawgiver and Murad IV. |
