PATRONA HALIL

He was the leader of “Patrona Revolt” and he was born in Horpeste. He was a marine in the Patrona Ship. He escaped to Roumelia in order to save his life after a revolt had been occurred in the ship. He joined a revolt in Nis and escaped to Istanbul. He joined the 17th division of the Yeniceri Corps. He worked as a street hawker and a middle-man at the same time. He led of the revolt that carries his name. After Sultan Mahmud I ascended the throne, Halil was killed in Istanbul, in 1730.
