Thomas Edward Lawrence is an archaeolog, soldier and writer. Rather than these attributes, he is known as the Lawrence of Arabia. Between 1914 and 1918, he made excavations in the Middle East, when The World War I began, he was appointed by the English to rebel the Arabs against the Ottomans. He organised groups and commanded them and fought against the Ottomans. He is one of the important figures in the independence of the Arabs. He became more famous with his books The Seven Pillars of Wisdom and Revolt in the Desert. He died in a car accident, in 1935. |
