His grandfather was Alaeddin Bey, and father was Mehmed Bey the ruler of the Karamanoglu State. Ibrahim opposed his father’s sovereignty and he took the throne. However, in a short time his father dethroned him and had taken his throne back. Ibrahim took the leadership of the Karamanoglu State after his father death. He refused the Ottoman authority and invaded Konya. Sultan Murad II appointed Ibrahim Bey as the governor of Konya. During the sultanate of Mehmed II he declared war against the Ottomans. He dided in 1454.
