Kara Yorgi was the founder of Yugoslav Kara Corcevich dynasty and was born in Visavag, in 1752. He was an officer in Austrian Volunteers Unit. This unit was organised against the Ottomans. He fought with the Ottomans in Visar, and entered Belgrade. He was declared a Serbian prince. Although the Char had supported him first, following the Bucharest Agreement in1812, Yorgi lost the Char’s favour. He escaped to Austria as a result of the Ottoman raids. He returned to Serbia in 1817. He was killed by the order of Mish Obrenovich who was the new leader of Serbia.
