Semseddin Ahmed Ibn Kemal was born in
Edirne, in 1468. He joined the army as a cavalry soldier. He attended the university, in
Edirne. After he completed his education, he was designated to Taslęk Medrese
(university) in Edirne, as a teacher. While he was in this position he wrote his first
work of literature named as Tarih-i Al-i Osman
by the order of Sultan Bayezid II. He was designated to Ishak
Pasha Medrese in Uskup and to Sultan Bayezid Medrese in Edirne. He gained Sultan Selim Is
favour. After the Caldiran Triumph he was appointed as the
judge of Edirne and, later to Anatolian Chief Military Judge (Kazaskasker). He joined the
Egypt War. He was dismissed in 1519. He was appointed to Institute of History in Edirne.
He became Seyhulislam, in the reign of Sultan Suleyman The Magnificant and he died in
