Halil Pasha was the minister of Navy and the
vizier in the sultanates of Murad IV and Ahmed I. He came to
the palace when he was young and he ascended to be an yeniceri commander. In 1617, he was
appointed as the grand vizier and sent to Iran campaign. He failed to defeat Iran and he
was dismissed.
In 1617, he was forgiven and appointed to be the grand
vizier for the second time. But, he was dismissed again as he failed to repress Abaza
Mehmed Pasha’s revolt. Thus, he began to live in a Dervish convent and was buried in its
garden. |
