He was born in Isparta Gelendost, in 1820.
He graduated from university in Istanbul. He went to Military Academy and graduated with
the staff captain rank, in 1848. He worked in the Military Academy as a teacher, for a
short time. He joined The Crimea War. He became the staff chief of Commander Omar Pasha.
He was appointed in many important duties. When he was the commander of Crete in 1867, he
was appointed to the governor of the island. Later, he was appointed as the Minister of
Military issues. When Mahmud Nedim Pasha was the grand vizier, he was dismissed. He was
exiled to Isparta for, 11 months. After, he was forgiven, he was appointed to Aydin as the
governor. After that, he became the Minister of Sea. In 1873, he was appointed to Minister
of War for the second time. In 1874 he was promoted to grand vizier rank. 14 months later,
he was dismissed and sent to Izmir, and later Bursa. When he was given the title of
Minister of War for the fourth time, he joined the reformists. Council of state, dethroned
Sultan
Abdulaziz and enthroned Sultan Murad V. He opposed the supporters of
the constitutional government. He continued to be the Minister of War in the reign of Sultan Murad V.
The supporter of Abdulaziz, Caucasian Hasan attacked suddenly the meeting of Council of
State and killed Huseyin Avni Pasha, In 1876. |
