He was born in Balikesir and fought in the conquest of Roumelia. He was the vizier of Dursun Bey the ruler of the Karesi State, when Karesi State annexed in to the Ottoman Empire, he joined the Ottoman Commanders. He was under the service of Sehzade Suleyman Pasha and later he was promoted to be the Minister of War. He captured Konurhisar, Malkara, Ipsala, and Dimetoka. In the conquest of Edirne, Haci Ilbey and his army played an important role. He defeated Crusaders in the Chirmen War. He died in 1364. He is remembered as one of the Ottoman border commanders that conquered Roumelia. He was a military genius, that, he became a legendary hero.
