Gulbaba was a famous Turkish Muslim warrior.
His tomb is in Budapest. In Evliya Celebi’s travel book it is mentioned
that; he was a Bektashi (a sect of Islam) Dervish from Merzifon. He took
place in wars of Mehmed the Conqueror, Bayezid II, Selim I, Suleyman I and
he died in the war fought in front of the Castle of Budapest, in 1541.
The funeral and prayer were directed by Sheyulislam
Ebusuud (Minister of the Islamic Issues). Since Gulbaba, was a very brilliant and
courageous soldier, Sultan Suleyman The Magnificent attended his funeral, as
