He was born in Yanya, in 1862. He
finished Military Academy with Staff Captain rank. He sent to Germany for a course of
instruction. After he returned, he was designated as the assistant oz General Goltz.
During Ottoman-Greek (1879) war he took place in staff committee of the Yanya Army. He
lectured in the War Academy. He was sent to Salonica as the assistant Commander of the
Third Army Corps but he was accused by being indifference to the actions of Committee of
Union and Progress and he was dismissed. He was judged in Istanbul but was forgiven with
the declaration of the Second Constitution. In 1911, he was appointed as the Commander of
Gallipoli Division. He was the Commander of the Northern Groups in the Canakkale War.
After the First World War he was appointed as the investigator of the Military Schools and
Second Army Corpses. In the cabinet of Salih Pasha he was designated as the Minister of
Sea for a short period. He wrote his memories and the book was published in 1975 with Esat Pasa’nin Canakale Anilari title
(Esat Pasha’s Canakkale Memories). He had died in 1952. |
