DILAVER PASHA

Dilaver Pasha was a grand vizier, he was a Croat, and, was educated in Enderun(women’s quarters in the palace). He became zuluflu, baltaci, and casnigar. For some time, in Egypt, he served the empire as kullar agasi, Desise Naziri, and cizye emini. He was invited to the palace and designated as casnigarbasi. He went to Crimea, after the death of Khan Selamet Giray in 1610, and helped Cani Beg Giray for the succession of the throne. Dilaver Pasha was designated to be the Governor of Cyprus in 1613, later he was attended to be the Governor of Baghdad. He joined the Revan Campaign. He was given the rank of vizier and was designated to Diyarbekir, in 1616. During this duty he managed to solve unjust administrations as the timar tax system, and he managed to repress some revolts in the region. Dilaver Pasha, after Sultan Osman II ascended the throne, was designated to be the Rumelia Governor, and joined to Iran Campaign with his forces. He played an important role in Serav Treaty, signed after the Ottoman defeat in the Serav War. Then he was designated to Baghdad for the second time, but after a short while he was attended to Diyarbekir. He took place, in the Lehistan War and in the Hotin Campaign. In 17 September 1621, he replaced Grand Vizier Ohrili Huseyin Pasha.

Rebels, revolted against Sultan Osman II gave a list of names to be executed, one of them was Dilaver Pasha. At first he was protected by Sultan Osman II, but later he was given to the rebels and he was killed. And his corpse was buried in Miskinler Graveyard in Uskudar (Istanbul).
