DELI HUSEYIN PASHA
.

Deli Huseyin Pasha was born in Yenisehir. He was a commander and a statesman of Sultan Murad IV. He was given the nickname “deli”(crazy) because of his insufficient education, courage and style of talking. He was the Commander of the Navy, and also he was appointed to be the governor of Baghdad, Egypt, and Bosnia. He had a great role in the conquest of Crete as the Commander of the Navy. In the sultanate of Murad IV, grand vizier Koprulu Mehmed Pasha called him to Istanbul and ordered him to be strangled in the Yedi Kule Dangeons, out of jealousy.
