Deli Hasan Pasha is the brother of
Karayazici, who was one of the celali bandits; arose at the end of 16th
century. Karayazici was defeated by Sokulluzade Serdar Hasan Pasha, and Deli Hasan Pasha
begun to lead the bandits. He united all the rebels, as Sahverdi, Yular-Kisdi. As his
power had increased he became a threaten for the Ottoman Empire. Deli Hasan Pasha defeated
the Ottoman Army commanded by Sokulluzade Serdar Hasan Pasha, in Tokat city. Bandits of
Deli Hasan took the control of the city and plundered the garden called “Heaven
Bundle” and besieged the castle. Sokulluzade Serdar Hasan Pasha died in the battle in
front of the castle. Deli Hasan started to plunder the cities of Anatolia, although the
governor of Diyarbakir, Husrev Pasha was sent against him, a permanent solution could not
have been provided. After some time; Deli Hasan sent his assistant Sahverdi to Istanbul,
and apologised from the sultan. With reconciliation of Commander Tornacibasi Huseyin from
the Yeniceri Corps, the sultan forgave him. Deli Hasan begun to campaign for the Ottoman
Empire in Roumelia and he was appointed as the Governor of Bosnia. But, Deli Hasan
continued to his rebellious behaviours and he was dismissed and was designated to Timisora
as the governor. However, because of his rebellious activities and inconvenient
administrations he was arrested and executed, in 1606. |
