PASSAGE LICENSE
.

It was the license given for travelling in the Ottoman Empire. To travel to Istanbul the licence was taken from the domestic administration institutions. This license was valid for one year and in it all the information about the person was written, as his identity and his reason for travelling. With this license the state was controlling the taxes, or cursory settlements. After the declaration of the Second Constitution, it was abolished, by claiming that it was against the human rights.

Even for family visiting this license was obliged. Also, the ships stopped on the ports had to have this licence. For bridge passages and for animal flocks special licences were designed.
