After, the Anatolian Seljuk State had collapsed, Karaman State had been founded in Nigde, Konya and Icel province. It was founded by Alaeddin Keykubat, in 1228. In 1262, Mehmed had replaced Sofu Nuri. Mehmed had struggled with the Mongolians and in 1277 he temporarily had invaded Konya. In this period he declared a command that the language of the state was Turkish. To hinder the Ottoman extension in Anatolia, the Karamans had allied with the Mamelukes but they failed and in the Sultanate of Murad I, they had accepted the Ottoman sovereignty and in 1483, they had been erased from the history. |
